A continent is a mainland hypothetical lost for any reason no longer exists. A prime example is Atlantis, which according to Greek myth, sinking to the seabed. Here is a list of four continents disappear.
1. Mu
When a traveler and writer Augustus Le Plongeon explored Maya ruins in Yucatan, he claimed to have translated one of the four Maya codices are known. According to a translation, Maya civilization far older than the Egyptians and Greeks, and that the manuscript is also said to an even older continent: Mu. According to Le Plongeon, Mu lies somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean and, comparable to the Atlantis, was sunk by a terrible earthquake. Refugees from Egypt Mu will then form while others will be the Mayans.
Another, slightly more "out there" theory presented by James Churchward in 1926. He stated that after translating more than two thousand tablets, he has learned that there really Mu in the Pacific Ocean and home to more than sixty million people while maintaining colonies in other parts of the world. Advanced civilization, perhaps the most sophisticated of its time. However, some thirteen thousand years ago it was destroyed in one night by an underground volcanic activity. He argues that the ancient civilization as we deem thee parent of all the refugees because they are all common symbols used for communication. Moreover, he pointed to the art of monolithic and its presence throughout the ancient world as evidence for the claim.
Science, of course, must be rejected as a downer science should be a lot of time. We know that the land is large enough (at least that is sufficient to house sixty million people) just do not believe that did not stop, even though the "sink.". Modern believers claim that the evidence of Mu can be found from the coast of Yonaguni Island, Japan, where some structures can be found under the water.
2. Lemuria
Lemuria has no base in clay tablets, but the hypothesis. After realizing that the fossil lemurs and related animals can be found in India and Madagascar, but elsewhere in South Africa from the Middle East, Philip zooligist Scatler proposed that Madagascar and India had joined with the mainland, in this case a larger continents or land bridges.
Actually, Scatler not the first to propose this. Many zoologists (and keep in mind that talking about in the 1700s and 1800s here, which makes nonsense claims is only a necessary credential for becoming a zoologist) proposed the exact same thing. They, however, did not think of cute names to go with it, apparently because they did not have a solid marketing people. But Scatler popularized the idea and soon the scientific community has a terminal case Lemuriamania. The paper began to theorize that the continents were actually stretches from the Pacific Ocean to better explain the distribution of different species around the world. Book of Survival Savage JH Moore went so far as to claim that human beings may have evolved from species that lived in Lemuria, despite evidence that is now lost to the sea.
However, the core of Lumeria is that he must sink to the bottom of the sea, that science is all too happy to call stacking. However, there is something for India-Madagascar connection. The two countries never connected, but India broke away millions of years ago, especially without sinking.

3. Thule
Greek explorer Pytheas was the first who has written about the land of Thule, an island north of Britain. According to his writings (which survive only in fragments referenced by other historians) that sailed six days and is the furthest north of the islands are known, place it in the Arctic Circle.
By the time most people do not take too seriously the claims of Pytheas, because he has a reputation for stretching the truth just a bit. Most surviving documents reference Thule rejects this notion by asserting that Pytheas only confuse some small islands and England that he is most likely off of his meds.
Unlike our previous entry, there is no doomsday scenario for Thule awesome. These are considered "lost" because if Pytheas actually found an unknown island is certainly not there now. However, most modern discussions on the subject of the opinion that he might have been referring to Norway, Iceland's Scandinavian or not, so he might have been onto something when he did not lie his ass off.
But Nazi, had free thinker, believes that Pytheas talking about a country that no longer exist. Moreover, it is the original home of the Aryan race, the people who are described as a giant super-eqsue with supernatural powers that put modern technology to shame. According to legend, a messiah will come from Thule to create mankind. We are sure you know how that story ended.

4. Hyperborea
Another entry from the ancient Greeks, the earliest reference we are still living to the land of Hyperborea from 450 BC, although reference is made to at least three works are also missing. The land was allegedly further north than the other and the home of the Hyperboreans, a giant race clear with divine blood.
In Hyperborea sun shining twenty-four hours a day and sets only once a year. Some texts refer to a single day on the continent that lasted one year compared to our standard measurement of time. Add more to this strange magic giant, Hyperboreans supposedly lived a thousand years of their time. That is, three hundred and sixty-five days they were the equivalent of a super year. This silly old credited to their perfect society free of the disease and war. People are just going to hang all day making music and such.
That is still there from what we know from the myth of people, outside of a legend. One charged that the soldiers of Atlantis had been planning a massive invasion of Hyperborea but retreated once they realized that they were friendly giant weird. Others claim that the Perseus slayed Medusa in Hyperborea than Libya, which sort of conflict in the community is perfect, but whatever.
The existence of ancient Hyperborea contested throughout, although there is some evidence to support that it is based on a real discovery. Twenty-four hours of sunlight can be placed somewhere on the island in the Arctic Circle. So Hyperborea deemed Siberia or the far-north might reach China. Meanwhile, Robert Charroux has stated that the Hyperboreans were ancient astronauts who chose the coldest regions of our planet to settle in because it is better related to their own planet's climate.
